NTP Server/ Network Time Server - Tempus LX GPSThe Tempus LX is a full-featured Stratum 1 Time Server. This model uses GPS as its time-synchronization source and it will deliver accurate and reliable time throughout any system running an NTP or SNTP client.
Supports 200,000 network clients with <10 microsecond NTP timestamp
accuracy. Easy to Install and MaintainInstallation is done in just a few minutes using either DHCP or by configuring the unit with a few simple keystrokes on the front-panel keypad/display. Monitoring, maintenance and control is easily and securely accomplished via a wide range of protocols including SNMP v3 and SSH. Web InterfaceStatus monitoring can be easily accomplished by pointing your web browser to the Tempus LX. Click the picture below to see an example of one of the status pages.
You can also perform software upgrades with the Web Interface. For security-conscious users, HTTPS can be completely disabled.

Network Security HardenedExtra care has been taken with the Tempus LX to "harden" it against network attacks. There are only a small handful of settings that need to be made and they typically need to be set only once in the lifetime of the product. Since this is a set-it-and-forget-it box we have eliminated all extraneous protocols/services in order to minimize exposure to security holes. You can change critical settings over the network using SSH or Telnet and monitor the alarm/status information by using HTTPS, SNMP, SSH or Telnet. Security-conscious users can disable any of the risky protocols or restrict access to specific hosts. Extended Stratum 1 Operation if GPS Signal LostIf your GPS antenna is on the roof the signal can be
lost for several reasons, such as lightning strikes and damage due to
maintenance activities or vandalism. If you are using a window-mount
antenna, then the signal is often missing because of poor sky
visibility. The Tempus LX will continue to serve Stratum 1 time for a
substantial period if the GPS reference signal is ever lost. This is
called the holdover period and it is dependent upon the quality of the
oscillator and the quality of the software control algorithms.
Best Window-Mount Antenna PerformanceIf a rooftop antenna is difficult for you, then mounting your GPS antenna in a window is an option. With our best-on-the-market holdover performance - your antenna only needs to see one satellite once a day to continue serving accurate Stratum 1 time to your network. |
